Reflection of 2016

PBS Collage 2016

This is a collage that I created with some photos of activities I participated in this year. There are pictures of Rockets at Tamaki College, which we did recently with Mrs Ferguson and Mr Dunn, a picture of my Hundertwasser art, a picture of Rhythm Interactive and some other photos that show how much fun I had this year.

Leader Nominations

Today the year 7s nominated our school leaders for 2017. We voted on the people how were using the CARE values, confident, Respectful and a person that can lead by example.

Hokey

For the last three weeks we have been taught how to play hokey. We were taught a lot of strategy's like octopus it is just like the normal game but you need to get your ball to the other side it was so fun.

Straw Rockets Fair Testing DLO

On Friday LS2 went to Tamaki College to build Rockets the first thing that we built was straw rockets it was  our first rockets we built and next Friday we will be building real rockets that shoot up in the ear.

Labyrinth

Today LS2 have been studying about a movie called Labyrinth. It was about a girl called Sarah who's brother gets taken by a villain called Jareth and his goblin minions. Sarah goes on a quest to save her brother but first she has to pass through the labyrinth.

Rockets

Today LS2 went to tamaki college to work on our rocket science me and Thomas were working together to build our own rocket our rocket came second place it was so fun thank you Mr Dunn and Ms Ferguson for every thing your done for us we really appreciate what you have done.

Straw Rockets At Tamaki College

Last Friday LS2 went to Tamaki College to build rockets the first rockets we made was straw rockets they were not that simple to build because we had to build the rockets with out fins then test how long it goes about four times then we had stick fins on that what made travel more far then we got to vs each other I came first I would of came second but Mr Dunn got disqualified and the people that came first, second and third got a chocolate we had so much fun thank you Mr Dunn for every thing your Dun for us LS2 really appreciates what your Dun.      

Tahuna Tarea trip

On Tuesday we went to Tahuna Tarea the reason we came to Tahuna Tarea because for inquery we were learning about Godwits and were they eat and were they bread they travil to Alaska to New Zealand. We had I lot of fun we went on a bush walk we explored the wet lands we went over a bridge it was so cool.

Gtoup Opinions

This is my groups opinions Sylis, Afu, Ana, Harry, Sakae and Mere this what we were doing for reading it wasn't that hard but got there.

Paper Darts

Today for writing we were learning about paper darts we had to follow steps and then write all of the steps we follows we had watch videos look at images all sorts of things after the we had to do the conclusion.

Learning Through Adventure

This week my group and I went to learning through adventure it is a program to teach you about teamwork, friendship, and confident lucky we accomplished that goal. After that Robert and Len told us that we were going to the Museum for our reword and for lunch we had fish and ships and after that we had a little play on the play ground.

Cyber Smart

This week Calvin and I created a google slide about Mamba snakes. we had to think about some question about Mamba snakes and then find out about the subject you chose.

Assembly

Today for assembly me and Juanita were picked to do assembly scripts. This was my first time speaking in front of a large crowd. I felt very nervous as this was way out of my comfort zone. One of the hardest parts of doing assembly was when the microphone was not working. One of the easiest scrip was just saying e noho.

3D printing

Today for tech the year 7s went to 3D printing at Tamki College we had to draw 3D shapes on a piece of paper and we hade to shade in the 3D shape to make it look more realistic.

Tahuna Torea

This week for Inquiry me and my group made a DLO for Tahuna Torea. We had to fine out how big the land is werer the godwit lives what they eat there habitat and what harms them.

Into The Book

This Week for reading Ms Anderson showed us this site for reading. There were so meany thing to explore so I chose to pick Monsters to the rescue because as soon I sore the front cover it hooked me in so I read it it got interesting by the minute but then I got stuck on a word native so I thought about it is a person born in a specified place or associated with a place by birth.

Reading Challenge

For our reading challenge we had to find out what word goes in that blank space so we had to read the hole page and then fill in the blank spaces.

How Birds Fly

Shannon and I worked together to make this animation on how birds fly.

Rhythm Interractive

Today Johnny and Lucy came to PBS to do their show: Rhythm Interactive. Everyone got a drum and it was really fun keeping to the rhythm. I enjoyed beating the drum with everyone and it was really funny when Johnny made weird faces.

Hydration - DLO

Today me and my group Daniel, Calvin and Sylis made a DLO about what does water do for us. We need water to help us learn enjoy our selves. If we did not drink water we would be tired and angry and we wouldn't be thinking right, this is why we need water.  

Bar tailed godwit

This term our inquiry focus was on the Bartailed Godwit but in Maori it is known as the Kuaka. The Yr7's have created a popplet together that tells informations about the appearance, habitat, Migration diet and what effects Godwit/Kuaka in different ways. We also added in some images and videos to give a clear picture of the special bird.  Did you know that they have a 8-9 day non stop flight, this adds up to one whole week and one day which is a short period of time considering they are flying long distance.   We look toward to learn more about the unique birds.

Word Cloud - Tugul

Today the year 7´s were learning about leadership Quality. We were learning this because next year we will become year 8´s so that means we are responsible for the school so if some juniors were playing by the Rd we will have to tell them to move away from the Rd and go play go play some were were there are no cars.

Pourquoi framwork

We had to find a buddy to read our story about Pourquoi, which is about how something came to Tonga. Then we had to do critical proof reading of their story by using the DRAFT method and making comments on what needed to be changed. We had to check for things like punctuation, and make sure that the spelling was correct and if everything made sense.

Can Do

For reading I did a can do based on an article about a gold toilet at Guggenheim museum in New York that the public were allowed to use if they paid to get into the museum.

Math's think board

For math's me and my buddy Cyrus were doing a think board about our math's problem that involves decimals. I didn't fined it too difficult. Cyrus and I had to use a strategy to solve the problem for example 5.09 + 3.21 =  5 + 3 =8   9 + 21 = 30   answer 8.30    

Cross Country Inter School

For cross country my two sisters competed in the finals at Bailey Road. Alaya my younger sister came 5th in her race, and my older sister Sky came in 2nd place. They both did really well and I'm really proud of them.  

Sketchnote

For our Sketch noting we started with Rio as our main topic and put our ideas into Sketch form by using pictures, numbers, bullet points. Drawing our ideas made it more fun and helped keep me focused on the task. It also helped me understand the learning and make connection to the pictures. Firstly we researched Rio then had to think about how it would feel to be receiving a medal at the Rio Olympics.

Cross country

This week cross country we had to run 6 laps. Every week the number of laps increase by 2 so at the start we started at 2 then it moved on to 4 then 6 and it will keep going on into September the 7th. Each week it get's harder but I am still jogging most of the way.  

Haoura DLO

Today my group and I finished our Hauora DLO. We were learning about Hauora for inquiry the past two weeks. The teacher that was helping me was Mrs Anderson. Hauora is about well-being and is special to New Zealand. It is normally shown as a house, with the four walls being about Body, Spirit, Mind and Friendship. The house is used as an example because like a house, in Hauora if one wall falls down the whole house falls down. This is used to help us learn how to stay healthy.

Olympic Silhouette

This week half of the class did some Olympic art. We used black PVA glue, pastels and a silhouette. It was very fun because I enjoy drawing and coloring in. First we picked our silhouette, then we used hot or cold colors for our background. Next, we cut out our silhouette and put black PVA glue on the lines of our background. Then we glued our silhouette on our background. 

Warriors Visit

Today Alice the sponsorship person from DTR brute with her two warrior players to panmure bridge school there names where John Palavi and Ryan Hoffman the senior players it wasn't that fun for me but it was alright addles it was something. We played this game Heads or tails so we had to answer the question on the screen so you have to put your hands on your head so that mean its correct if your hand are on you bum that means your incorrect after that we took some photo´s with the rugby players.

Run Jump Throw

Yesterday the year 7´s and 8´s went to run jump throw together. Our focus was long jump. We had to see who could jump the furthest. I made it in to finals and I came forth witch was pretty good.

Current Events

Today LS2 mad a Current Events DLO and we had to answer all of the questions. We were writing about Nicky Hambin Abby Agoston the American girl how fell two times in the running Olympic Rio games because she was tripped by someone and her knee was badly injured in the race lucky a New Zealander help her get to the finish line. That is great sportsmanship there I hope if that happens again someone will help that person.

Run jump throw

Today LS2 had run jump throw. First we played octopus. It was very fun. Then we did practice on sprints. I learnt that get ready set go is the start of sprints. Ready go means long distance.At the start we had to be 1 meter away from the line. On your mark means step forward on your right foot and set means lean forward and go means boost on left foot. I also learnt that when I run I have to do high knees and when I run, I have to look forward otherwise I will slow down and fall.

Olympic Training

For inquiry me and Sylis went to LS1 to learn about Olympic Training it took about 2 weeks to make this so it was a bit hard because it was confusing and very hard it may be easy to you but it's not to me.

Languange Features

Yesterday I finished my Language Features DLO I had to search and fined what Noun, Verb, Adverb, Metaphor and Adjective Describes I had to fine every thing about the words it wasn,t that hard but it was alright.

Electives Cubeecraft

On Tuesday I mad a pokeball for my Electives it wasn't that hard but it toke a lot of time to make it may look easy but trust me it is not. All I had to do was cut the sides and in to the little gabs can you see them look at A you can see the little gab between the wight and black.

Ordering Numbers

Another math's game witch is easy it is just the same as the last math game I was playing this game because I was working on my math's skill's and I got there.

Ordering numbers

Today I was playing this math's game called Ordering numbers I went on super hard and it wasn't that hard it was easy as that I just had to order it to the lowest number to the highest number.

Subtraction

Today I played a math game called subtraction numbers I had to answer the question and check it if it was correct it was easy as I do not no why I had to do this maths game because it was that easy that I go all the answers right.   

Ancient and Modern Olympics

This my Inquiry DLO that I just finished before launch I had to make a Olympic DLO with my buddy Sylis, Zahn, Thomas and me this took over a week to make so I hope you enjoy my DLO.

NZ Olympics 2016

Today I just finished my 2016 Olympics logo DLO all I had to do is to do was to add a laurel wreaths photo the Olympic circle and a font.

Life wise Big Sleepout

Today I finished my Current Events DLO I had to write about Life wise Big Sleep out it is about helping homeless people and the AUT fundraised about 317,426.80$ for the homeless people that is a lot of money and that fed 500.00 homeless people witch that mad a very big change and it gave the homeless people hope.

Hover bike DLO

This morning I just finished my hover bike DLO me and Paige created this it do's not have that much work because I wanted to make my DLO simple.

Time tables Qizizz

Today I played Qizizz it is a maths game were you have to answer all of the ten questions my live rank was 32 witch is a low rank because I am bad at maths I need to practices more on my three, five and six times tables it was fun and challenging but I got there.  

Warriors game

On Saturday us boys and girls went to the worriers game it fun and boring at the same time but addles

it was something. The worriers won by three points agents the panthers it was good game. Well that's the first time the worriers won usually they lose.    

Reading Comparison

Yesterday I created a DLO could Reading Comparison. I had to fine the year 7's genres and the year 8's genres. I had to look and fine what book character they like witch book did they like when they were five all sorts of things. The year 8's had most of the things. The year 7's are red the year 8's are blue.  

Book parade

 Today the whole school went to the hall for the book parade nearly all of the teachers and most of the students dressed up. Like Miss Anderson she dress up ass a witch my friend Shannon dressed ass Max the bike rider it was fun but it got boring but it was all rite.

Quizizz

Today I played this math's game could Quizizz I was playing with my friend Cyrus, Lathem and other people. Cyrus was coming third place I came forth place it was a fun game.
 

Advertisement

This is my advertising DLO that I and my group made. My group was Calvin, Sajiha, Mya and me. we had a lot of trouble but we got there one person had too write the other three had to run to there paper and read and then come back and tell the story to the person to write it down.

Attributing

Today I did attributing. Attributing means instead of copying it you attribute it so you just search up anything up and go Images and click on tools you go usage rights and labeled for reuse with modification.  

Spark

Yesterday Lynne Le came to our school she was working for spark we were talking about leadership week the year 7's had to list role model leader's like our family's, sport's leader or even a world leaders. After that she gave the year 7's a bag, pen, bottle and a cap so I would like to say thank you for all this hard work you've don for us we very appreciate it.   

Orienteering

Today LS2 went Orienteering Eric and I were a team we came last that was pretty stink but it was good game and it was pretty cool to.
